MY SODA FOUNTAIN AGE

Toes press against a marble footing,

 One vast mirror looms ahead,
Show and tell with drugstore socksers.
Part of me still says "go there",
Glows there with best of friends,
Back-beat coming from a juke box,

Bodies, plenty of room for pudding.

Many a footprint lead to bygone
Trends, not suffering from rotting minds,
Soon to triumph on giant screens
With symphonic headroom owing it all
To monumental marble, innocent base camp,

Climbing through a dusty soda glass.

 Our futures explored each other,
 A random introduction becoming
A soul mate or an unremarkable date.
In the soda fountain saga a breath escaped
Just before human touch could take us,
And the knowledge we knew out-dated us.
