STIRRING UP THE BOTTOM
We have started a poetry revival in historic Shockoe bottom and shall continue to stir it here on the
World Wide Web.

 Hybrid Appreciation

A voice can be many out of

The cross-talk of disciplines.

Eyes that speak to the ears,

Neither song of itself nor the

Inner riff it explores, but a

Dialogue of unique sounds

That other notes can hear

More clearly than the rest.

The Hours behind a horn,

Lessons at a dripping easel,

Seconds gripping a camera

Years in front of a screen;

The ultimate sensory judge

Still the heart and the soul.

Brain to hand coordination

Like a feather let loose in a

Whirlwind of visionary will

From a multitude of media,

One nameless instrument

You invent when you speak

Emerges like a song from

Deep inside love’s longing.

Hell can be many voices

All of them your very own.
