NOT BEING ME

Flying colors, the winning form,
always rare, no matter the race,

inspiration, not assured,
the searching  pace more important

than  outcome or escape.

A sparkle of  bay shore blue
or a
banner of color leading somewhere,

rewards with unexpected pursuit of laughs, an inner creation

of positive relief.

On-going actions, busy  bystanders, you learn to impose new found regime

onto every thought,
even self-distraction, but
only our sensibilities

belong
to the dream,

the way in which we sense
the profound, how  a memory becomes

the sound of a shell.

What it’s like cannot be told, only flashed,

Like listening to its liquid,
you would drift away.

Yet, rhythm is heart, not sentiment.

Energy needs to rise and fall

Spreading out over the seascape or boulder field

Like an tentative hand.

Return from poetic ocean depths,

deeper than reason,

an ultimate scene takes place inside each reader.

Creativity and listening are a test of non-being, no more

weird than
mammalian diving instincts,

despite form or formless contents,

continuity or the lack – not like a monstrous entity or

Grindhouse movie where the pop actors grope for identity,

characters in search of sci-fi,

but where you know there
is a winner,  a loser and
an optimistic survivor.
