JULY  2003

Tall, Dark, Handsome, Tuesday

For most people metaphors are just coconuts,

Good for a door stop, a great conversation piece,

Best if carved into native ritual masks because

Nobody wants to crack that sucker open,

The task would be daunting for anyone.

People like to let their metaphors sit around

Collecting a lot of philosophical dust, prefer

Idle curiosity over trying to make sense of it,

"Oh, they say, I liked it better when it caught

Me off guard and I didn’t know what it meant !"

Be careful telling the secret behind metaphors

Your dream, a poem, don’t expect a scholarly

Reaction to *Koans of your infinite inner beauty,

Its like one of those Gypsy fortune cards,

Tall, Dark, Handsome, look for him Tuesday.
